The research-creation project explores the possibilities of original readings of the architectural built environment through the modification of photographic images.

The project takes as an example the former service station of Mies Van der Rohe in Montreal renovated in 2009 by FABG architecture.

Photographic alterations are inspired by the work of visual artist Kensuke Koike and highlight the visual qualities of photographic images that can offer new realities to architecture.

Through this proposal, the designer is able to open his eyes to new relationships within the architecture of a “finished” building and between it and its environment.

Le projet de rechercher-création explore les possibilités de lectures originales de l’environnement bâti architectural par la modification d’images photographiques.

Le projet prend comme exemple l’ancienne station-service de Mies Van der Rohe à Montréal rénové en 2009 par FABG architecture.

Les altérations photographiques sont inspirées du travail de l’artiste visuel Kensuke Koike et mettent en valeur les qualités visuelles des images photographiques qui permettent de proposer de nouvelles réalités à une architecture.

Par cette proposition, le designer est en mesure d’ouvrir ses yeux sur de nouveaux rapports au sein de l’architecture d’un bâtiment «fini» et entre ce dernier et son environnement.
