Take out studio

Jacob & Léa are a - non exclusive - duo of designers from Tiohtià:ke/Montréal.

Léa is now based in Rotterdam (NL), Jacob is in Tiohtià:ke (CAN).

Environment designers by trade, Take out studio builds spaces that reveal the links between people, objects, architecture, and their contexts.

Together they invent new typologies of spaces and experiences for the cultural and educational realms.

Working with open-source, web-based and live broadcasting softwares like OBS, and Blender, they develop 3D-fied, experience-orientated and projection-heavy outcomes.

They work in collaboration as well as on their own projects, opening up their individual and collective practices to work with other professionals.

Léa Cadieux

Léa is a social designer;
her practice explores digital technology as a medium for spaces and creates new typologies of virtual experiences. Her designs respond to the transformation of social dynamics through digital technology, and explore communication and engagement between humans, non-humans, and objects.

She crafts installations, exhibitions, spaces, and experiences.

Rencently, she’s been working on building cross-disciplinary networks for collaboration, teaching at Design Academy Eindhoven (NL), developing work as one of the 25 Emerging Digital Makers of The Hmm (NL), being an artist in residence for the Moving Media Lab (NL), and investigating New Data Languages during her residency at Domestic Data Streamers (BCN).
Jacob Éthier

Jacob’s practice navigates the shifting landscapes of architecture, design, and digital media to explore how spatial narratives can be reframed through fiction, satire, and world-building.

His work investigates the infrastructures of daily life—digital and physical—and how they shape identity, behavior, and belonging. Through speculative design and critical storytelling, he creates environments that expose, exaggerate, or reimagine the systems we inhabit. Aligned to the speculative side, his effort in the architectural industry aims to loop back the digital impact on architectural conceptual thinking to generate sensible architectural forms to be built.
